dream lover!!!

This post is going to be about my Dream Lover... Read more before u jump into any conclusions :)

Day before y'day night, I had one of the weirdest dreams... :)
This is all I remember of that dream now..
I was dreaming as if it was my marriage the next day :D
I come home for my marriage and suddenly realise that I haven't seen the bride yet. I get anxious and ask my mother about how this marriage got fixed and who the bride is. She says it was me who selected the bride and also says that I've seen the foto too. I get too confused and ask her if she has the photo of that girl. She goes and searches a shelf for the photo. Meanwhile, I get more and more anxious and start searching my stuffs if I've got anything. Atlast, my mother comes up with a photo and when I see the photo, I get stunned and BOOM.... I wake up thinking whats happening with me... :))))
Hey.. don't u dare laugh after reading this!!!
I was talking to my friend abt his marriage plans tht evening and was thinking why ppl are getting married so soon... tht might have triggered such a dream.
Anyway, jus felt soo funny, so sharing it with all of u...
Thts about my Dream Lover.... whom I didn't get to see :(

Some random things I wish to say:
  • Saw Apaharan last weekend and felt it was very nice. Liked the acting of Ajay Devgan and Nana Patekar. Felt I saw a gud picture with a nice story after seeing some no-logic and laugh-riot kind of movies.

  • Read a couple of gud novels of Erich Seagal - The Class and Acts of Faith. Erich Seagal is one of my fav authors now since I read his Doctors n Love Story. Acts of Faith is too gud a novel and u'll feel for the characters in that book. The Class is another novel abt life of 5 Harvard graduates of same batch and what happens in their life. One character that really got into my mind is that of Jason Gilbert.

  • Couple of days back, I was jus checking my statcounter and found that some ppl have come to my blog searching for some strange key words like "Preity Zinta Movie Salary". Wow.. how come I'll know of that.. :))
Another search string that made me really happy was - "Angelina Jolie Prasad". I donno who searched for that, but whoever it is, am really grateful for him/her... for having attached me to such a beauty :D (atleast in a search string :D)

  • Again, am wondering whats up with BCCI and the selectors. They select Ganguly again for the Pakistan series, but am really skeptical abt he getting some chance to actually play for India during the series. Lets see... But, am sure this controversy is not going to end in near future, as now Kiran More has asked for an explanation as to why he skipped the Ranji trophy match which he was asked to play. And the argument continues.....
Thts it for today... let me see whether I get such dreams in future too and if so, i'll try to see the foto first :D

Christmas Wishes...

Christmas reminds me of the times we used to enjoy with our friends. There are two festivals that people in Kerala celebrate in a grand manner, irrespective of religions. One is Onam and the other one is Christmas. We used to be members of an association called Kerala Samajam where we celebrate all these festivals together. Till I was in tenth standard or so, I used to go for singing carols during Christmas times. We go to our friends' houses and sing Carols throughout night with Santa dancing n saying "Ho Ho Ho" and giving the children gifts n chocolates..
We used to sing songs like Jingle Bells, While Sheperds, Silent Night.... and some Malayalam songs too..

This is one carol which I like alot....

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth

updates reg my Hampi trip...

Am being not regular in updating my blog as I used to, thanks to the increasing work at office. But, let me start the post with a gud news to share with you all.
All my hard work that I did for the last few months didn't go unnoticed and last week on Friday, we had our All Hands Meet (an account level meeting for all the employees belonging to a particular account) and I was awarded a Bravo Award cartificate :) Bravo award is given for excellent performance for the project and company activities. I became rich by 100$ :D. I was in cloud 9 that day.

Ok, now for the update regarding my Hampi trip on 17th December. This was a trip sponsored by our company for our account. All the remaining money we had for the year we utilised and arranged for this trip. There were about 75 ppl in all (some came with their family too). We started from Bangalore on Friday night by train to Hospet. Two buses were arranged at Hospet to take us to Hampi. We arrived at Hospet at 8am in the morning and boarded the buses. We were in full masti mood singing songs in the bus, playing antakshari and having great fun. Reached Hampi and saw that it was jus a vast area with lots n lots of rocks and old structures.

Move the mouse over the snaps to get the name of the places...

King's BalanceVitthala temple

Hampi,on the banks of Tungabadhra river was the capital city of the Vijayanagara empire some 700 years back. The Moghuls destroyed it after they captured this place from them.
It is also said that Hampi was known to be the Kishkindha, the monkey kingdom where Bali and Sugriv ruled during Ramayana times.
Hampi is a World Heritage Center now.

Stone ChariotUggara Narasimha

We saw lots of monumental places like the Kings Balance, Vitthala temple consisting of 56 musical pillars, Lotus Mahal, Queen's Bath, Elephant Stable, Hazara Rama temple, Stone chariot, Secret meeting chamber, Uggra narasimha statue, Badavi Linga, Sister stones, Artistic steps in a tank and lots of such monuments.
Its a marvelous place which we should preserve since its a part of our rich heritage. Each and every carvings, sculptures and buildings are of such artistic nature that it will astonish u.
You can read more about Hampi and the monuments there in this site

Lotus MahalIf you can find a person sitting in the middle, its ME!!! :)

But, the place was quite hot and spending the whole day there jus seeing the monuments was kind of boring in the end. The return journey in the train was very good.. We again enjoyed playing games, singing songs and were awake till 1am in the morning. Atlast, we reached Bangalore on Sunday morning.
So, all in all it was a gud trip.

Did you spot me in one of these fotos???

presentation skills, nach baliye and ganguly..

Don't think alot seeing the title.... Yes, they are not linked in any way :)
I was jus lost thinking of a suitable heading for this and wrote whats in this post :)
Anyway... let me start...

  • My friend attended a one day training on Presentation Skills n told me that its worth going. So, I had enrolled for it and thanks to my friend, it was very helpful and I hope I'll put to use all that I've learnt from the training.

The trainer was one Mr.Jatinder who owns a company dealing with lots of such soft skills training. He was too gud in this... He gave us a li'l basics of what are the important things in a presentation that we give. Then, he asked all the 20 trainees to chose a topic of our own and present for 7 mins each.
He analysed our presentation and gave some positive and negative feedback for each of us. All the other trainees too gave their comments. This way we got to see each of us performing and learn where we were going wrong...
At the end of the day, he played a 2 minute clipping of each of us presenting (oh.. i forgot to tell u tht he recorded each of our presentations for a couple of mins). So, we could see each of us on the big screen and check whether all tht they said were correct or not.

It was a very gud exercise.. I went to present second and I had chosen the topic Impact of Page 3-ism :) The feed back I got was....

    +ve points:
    • My enthusiasm level was very gud
    • Was feeling confident, smiling and facing the audience well
    • My postures were right
    -ve points:
    • I was a bit fast in presenting and should slow down a bit.
    • I used a common filler "I mean" alot which should be avoided. I know this problem is cos I use this alot even when I talk and am now taking efforts to remove it while I talk
    • The reason he gave for why I talked fast was that I was trying to talk at the speed of my thougts. Since our thoughts are faster, I tend to loose words and start using the fillers. He asked me to jus slow down and start consciously try to speak alittle slow. The structure of the presentation too would go wrong if we go about in this manner as we would skip certain points that went off our thoughts fastly but not able to speak them out. Sometimes, nervousness would creep then.

Atlast, when I saw my presentation in the screen, I felt I did do well but yes, as they said I did notice those points that I should correct.
Anyway, that was one training I got alot out of....

  • Today is Nach Baliye finals. Nach Baliye is a celebrity dance competition aired in Star One. Of all the reality shows going on, I watch only this one. And I want Sachin n Supriya to win. Poonam n Manish are gud but not that gud to be in the finals. Varun n Rajeshwari were performing toooo gud consistently but unfortunately Varun went blank last week while dancing which led to their elimination. Lets see how the final goes.... and will there be more dramas??

  • One more thing I wish to say is about the sacking of Sourav Ganguly from the third test match. I am completely against this even if I was supporting earlier for Ganguly being eliminated from the one day squard. I don't know why in the first place did they take him for the first two tests and when he started to find his form alittle bit, sack him again. This is not what I expected from the selection committee. He is a great cricketer and should be given the due respect. If he had not performed well in the second match, I'd happily support this change. But, this is not proper... I'd have been happier if he was not selected for the entire test series itself, instead of selecting and dropping midway even after performing well. I'm very much disappointed with this decision.

  • Last but not the least, I would like to wish a blogger friend of mine. "Happy Birthday to Miss and soon to be Mrs. Poonam :)"
This post is abit long.. but couldn't help as I'm posting after quite sometime....
BTB, am going to Hampi tomorrow night. Its a one day trip sponsored by our company for our account. So, hoping to have a nice time.. will write abt my trip after am back.. :)

Lots to write... lots to update... but am jus lost.. :)

First, I'd like to share the experience I had last saturday when me and my friends participated in the Samarthanam Walk-a-thon event in Bangalore on 3rd December, organised by the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.
3rd December is International Day of Disabled Persons and they wanted to create an awareness regarding this.
The event was a walk for about 5kms with the disabled ppl and followed by some cultural events by them. Actually, I would like to use the word physically challenged instead of physically disabled. That was the first thing I learnt from one of the speeches given at tht event.
We were actually late for the walk, yet we managed to catch the group and we too started our walk and we started guiding a group of partially blind ppl.

After the walk got over, we all assembled in the Kanteerava stadium for the cultural events.
There were dances, songs by these ppl which really made us stand and watch. There were performances by some school students too.
We were happy to see three great ppl getting felicitated on that day. They were the ones who got Gold medals and other medals for India in Para-Olympics... We really should honor these kind of ppl who brought laurels for India when we ppl hardly win any medals in Olympics.
In the end, there were some fireworks display too...

All in all... we were happy to be a part of such an event... and very happy to see ppl coming together to support for these cause. Its a day to remember for me... and thats why am putting it in my blogs and sharing it with u all...
Hail these ppl who, inspite of all the challenges they face, have come together to put up such a strong display for all of us.

We remember the 1st of December as World Aids Day, but how many of us know 3rd December as International Day of Disabled Persons.... very few.. To be honest, I didn't know that until that day, and now I'll never forget it. Hope u too won't forget it, now that I've told u :)

This has been a little tight week for me and I was waiting for the weekend so that I can relax.
Above all, there was one very irritating spyware called "Winfixer" which got into my system and throwing up all sorts of unwanted popups in the Internet Explorer..
It ended up as a "Trojan.Vundo" virus and I had a hard time fixing it for a whole day yesterday... But, some online forums did help me alot in solving this virus.
I found one site very helpful for this.. The site is http://www.geekstogo.com/
There a very good forum here which will guide us how to remove any spyware, adware or any virus for that matter.

I wanted to write something interseting... but, all these things made me go mad, so now.. I'll wait for the next week...

I was looking forward for the India vs Srilanka test series, but unfortunately.. I have a strong doubt tht it'll end up as a One test match series instead of a 3 test match series..

Ok then, i need to go home now and take some rest....
have a nice weekend guys.. :)

coolpras4u turns one today :D

Yahooooooooo!!! My blog completed its first year in the bloggers park... :)

Happy Blog Anniversary to coolpras4u :D

It all started with me google-ing for some topic and landing on a blog (which unfortunately I don't remember). Then, I jus googled again for the word "blog" and there started my journey into the bloggers park.
But, I must say tht most of my posts have been jus personal posts regarding my home, my life @ bangalore, my passions like music and sports... and ofcourse some regarding Kerala, the place I belong to.

All thro' this one year I've made lots of gud friends thro' the blogs, attended lots of VBMs(Virtual Bloggers Meet) and a couple of Real Bloggers meets too.
One thing I've not done yet is changing my template :) and I donno whether I'll be doing tht or not.. lets see..

I still remember I got a couple of mails and some comments from ppl belonging to my native place after seeing my post - "A tribute to my native place".
That made me really happy to hear from those ppl...thanking me for the detailed information I had provided reg the history of the place. Many of them were living outside Kerala and didn't know much abt their ancestorial place...
Unfortunately, the Haloscan comments which I had included in my blog ate all of my old comments and I had to resort to the good old blogger's commenting itself, a lesson which I learnt in a hard way :(

Am glad that I'm able to sustain this long in the bloggers world... inspite of some tough periods and heavy schedules at work, thanks to each and every one of my blog friends n readers...
Guess I've rambled on alot.. so, let me stop and let me end by saying Blogs Rock.. and We Bloggers Rock too :D

Story Tree - Their Journey

He thought it would be an ordinary journey. Standing behind the pillar he watched the train snort arrogantly into the station. With each snort he was reminded of his grandfather's words "You will fail in the city and return penniless"; with every heavenward whistle, he heard his cousin, "Don't worry. Come here and I will get you a job at the construction site." Now he had a 34-hour journey to prove one of them wrong, and he expected the excitement at the end of the journey. He looked at his ticket once again: compartment S9 berth 23.

Pushing his luggage under the seat, he sat close to the window. "Papa, when will you be back?" - his four year old daughter Munni asked innocently. He stared into those soft brown eyes of the motherless kid. He held her frail palms in his, through the window. "Munni, Papa will get you a nice gudiya from the city..Say tata," his sister spoke to the kid, to avoid an emotional outburst. In a minute, the train pulled forward, and Munni's little fingers parted from between his. "I need to go..", he thought, "I have to, at least for Munni's sake.."

The humid summer breeze and the rattling train coaxed him into an uncomfortable state of drowsy consciousness. He dreamt that Munni ran away, the closer he ran to her, the farther she was, like a mirage. He woke up with a start and squinted at his watch."What is the time please?"A smallish woman, a meek voice as if she was scared that her existence would annoy someone. Her only noticeable feature was her rather large, expressive eyes."4.30"Something made him look at the woman again. He had stopped noticing women long back. Ever since Meenakshi passed away...

But this woman was different. She reminded him of someone he knew. In an instant he realized who and the painful memories came flooding back. She looked exactly like his childhood sweetheart Madhu. As teenage lovers in a conservative society, they had often met secretly and had declared undying love for each other.
Then someone had found out and all hell had broken loose. The elders in the village Panchayat had ostracized Madhu's family as she was from a lower caste. Unable to bear the humiliation, she had committed suicide by drowning. That was twelve years back...

Could it be? Could it really be him? He seems different, weary and downcast. Oh no will he recognise me? No, I am dead to the world. Still she cautiously wrapped her saree end around her head and across her face. Behind the cotton screen, her mind drifted to happier times, languid strolls in the corn fields, games at the riverbed, his gentle caress, whispered sweet nothings, stolen glances at the temple fair.
Tempted to take one last look, she consoled herself that he wouldn't notice. Slowly
she lifted her eyes only to find Rupak staring back at her.

She quickly glanced the other way.

‘No, this girl looks too close to be any other person. She is infact Madhu!! “Hey, Madhu!” he called.

She struggled hard not to respond to that call. And successfully managed it too.

"Hey Madhu, you forgot me?” he inquired her and came closer.

The old lady sitting opposite to him was looking at this unapprovingly.

“No, you are mistaken, My name is not Madhu.. I am Supriya” she lied.

“Hey Ram!, a young girl cannot travel safely in this country without being stalked!” the old lady muttered angrily.

The girl walked briskly away from him, trying to escape his glances, as though she was hiding something, not wanting to be discovered. He stood confused, she had said her name wasn’t Madhu, and should he run after her? Or should he let it pass, after all he still had a train to catch.

His heart told him it was Madhu, followed her, all thoughts about going to the city vanished; he was on delighted to have met Madhu after such a long time. He was filled with memories of their time together. He finally caught up with her. Looking into her eyes he said
' Why Madhu? Why this to me?'

"Please dont lie to me anymore"; sounding more like the Mani he used to be ten years back when he had first met her at the Village temple, rather than the arrogant side that seemed to rule his life now. "I know it is you, nobody else but you Madhu". Tears roll down her cheecks as she tries to remember why they ended up this way. Was it destiny or fate that they had to meet now?

As she speaks up, the train which for a while had be at a halt, slowly starts to move.

She couldn’t speak out even a word. All that was seen , tears rolling down her cheeks out of happiness.

Now,he was not in a state to loose her again .Though they didn’t speak any word ,everything was clear .

Now also ,they were able to read what was running in each others mind.

He slowly held her palms into his. She couldn’t stop him though she wanted too.

For a moment ,they forgot everything. All that was felt, they want to live a new life together.

He later discovered that both were going to the same construction site for the job..

Same job at the same construction site?!! Same destination?!! He was too shocked to react.
"How could this be possible?" he wondered. His mind went reeling to the past. The hidden past. The past of which he wanted no more.
"Remember? Remember Mani??? 5 years ago…" his mind talking. He does not like to be called Mani but his mind was not listening. His mind, which always was within his control, was rolling back to the past.
"5 years ago in the train. Both you & Madhu to the same destination unknown to eachother just like today. That's when it happened…"

He was lost in thoughts about their first meeting.
Then, he had just finished his 12th and was going to the city to pursue his graduation there. He had to board the 9pm train to Mumbai and was just in time to catch the train and confirming his ticket in the final confirmation list pasted outside the S6 compartment.

Seat Name Age Sex Berth
29 ------------ -- - ---
20 ------------ -- - ---
31 Rupak Mani 18 M SU
32 Madhushree 18 F SL
33 ------------ -- - ---

And he glanced at the next name in the sheet which happened to be a girl of his same age.
"Rupak, it might be the girl of your dreams!!!" his mind excited as he entered the compartment.

When it comes to short stories, the first name tht comes to my mind is Divya, but she is already busy with her studies. So, not willing to disturb her... Most others are also busy with their studies and personal works...
So, the responsibility goes to....

music n cricket...

Yes... the title says it all.. I'm gonna write about Cricket and Music.

Music first... and don't forget to see what I've written abt Cricket.. :)

Hmm.... the group I am gonna talk about came into this business last year or so, I got to hear their music only recently and it was amazing....
Last week, when I was watching a music channel... one song captured my mind and I noted down the song in my mobile... The next day I downloaded the song and one more by the same group and listened to those two song.
My god.. u should also hear those two songs... A perfect fusion music... rock and Indian classical and to top, the lyrics are simply amazing... The voice of the singer is so different and refreshing too.. And the guitarist has done a wonderful job too.

Ok, I'll let out the name of the band now.. Its a Paksitani band called "Fuzon". The songs I'm talking abt are "More Saiyan" and "Neend Na Aaye".
These two songs are amazing... and are available for download at the coolgoose site.
Go to the Music->Advance Search option and search for Fuzon as the artist. You'll get both these songs. So, do download and listen. U won't be disappointed. Am listening to those two numbers everyday and it has taken its place in my fav list :)
I did a little research on this band and came to know tht they've sung the same song "Mora Saiyaan" for Nagesh Kuknoor's film Hyderabad Blues 2.

Certainly the Pak groups like Junoon, Strings, Faakir and this Fuzon are doing very well in the pop music arena... They are giving the Indian singers and bands a good run for their money..

And, after listening to those two songs, do let me know ur opinions on these.

If u've seen today's match or atleast followed (as I did with the help of cricinfo site), u'd have noticed the change that the Indian team has gone thro in this series.
I'm really happy to see the way the team is being build up and the way the youngsters are playing a pivotal role in the teams victory.
The 5-1 drubbing of the SriLankan team says it all.
Some positives I've noticed in this Indian team are....

- First n foremost, its not jus dependent on the Tendulkars and Sehwags alone...
- The youngsters have taken up major responsibilities and are playing to their role.
- Fielding, which has not been India's forte tilldate, is being given equal importance by the coach and the team like bowling and batting and its beginning to show on the team's performance in the field.
- Every youngster is given some chance to do justice for his selection, instead of jus being in and out of the team like many other lost faces in the Indian Cricket history. And the beauty of this is that each one of them are actually contributing well for the victory (see RP Singh's performance today)
- There is truly a sense of commitment in this team backed by a very good coach in Greg Chappel, whom many of them were criticising for being a different tactician.
Both he and Dravid are certainly grooming a team for future.

I feel sorry for Sourav Ganguly whom, I feel, will find hard to come back into this team. Its a very good sign for the Indian team :)
And I sincerely hope that this team doesn't flatter to deceive. Hope they continue their winning ways and put the fear of consistency at the back of their minds. Lets support this young Indian team....

so, wassup thr guys.. am back :)

Hey all.... Atlast am back with a post :)
Firstly, let me wish u all a Happy Diwali. I know its a bit late, yet ppl do celebrate it till the end of this week na. So, its never too late :)

You wanna know how my diwali was?? I had a fabulous time the whole day of diwali in the train ;) Yes, I was travelling the whole day of diwali :(
I went to Kerala for the holidays and had to return back by Wednesday cos of my work. But, I couldn't get the return tickets and in the end had to travel during the day time.
I started from home at 10am in the morning. And since it was raining in Bangalore and nearby areas, the train was late by more than 2 hrs.. and atlast when I reached Bangalore, it was 12 midnight :( I took an auto and paid him more than what I paid for my train journey.. He cashed in the opportunity as it was raining and it was late night.. So, thts how my Diwali was this yr..

During the break I was having from the blogs...

- I took part in a programming contest conducted by our company. The preliminary qualification round is over, and awaiting the results of whether our team qualified for the next round or not..
- As I said in my prev post, had enrolled for a Time management course, but the plan failed as tht course was over-booked and mine went to waiting list :(
- Did enjoy a great Raas Garba and Dandiya dance event conducted at Chandu's office. Myself, Chandu and PV had been to this dance event. We did enjoy alotttt.. You can find more details reg this in PV's blog.
- Attended a Birthday VBM organised by Neetie for Ricky's and Sweety's b'days..
- Saw some films like Salaam Namaste, No Entry. I do want to see Garam Masala now.. its a remake of a Malayalam movie and its really funny. Do watch out for tht..
- Went home for Diwali hols and enjoyed mom's tasty food which I'm missing now :(
- Enjoyed the cricket series going on between India and Sri Lanka. Atlast, I feel that there is a team in making. These guys do play with a sense of purpose and commitment. Hope they learn to do it consistently.. thts one thing we miss alot... lets see...

One more thing as an after thought, in my last post, I wrote abt how our lives r affected by all these calamities of late.. Guess the Nature God didn't like it and punished with heavy rains in Bangalore, many places in Tamilnadu and in Andhra.
My god.. I can't imagine the situation Mumbai might have faced cos I know the rains we got here is not even half of what Mumbai received couple of months back. But, this rain was enough for the roads to get blocked, traffic all over and water getting into houses, cars floating.... lots of this we got to witness..
Anyway, life is still going on inspite of all these.. :)

Ok then, its been a big post.. i've got to end it here..
And lastly, Eid Mubarak for all those celebrating Ramzan tomorrow.. esply to Sadik cos I know he is on fasting...

And sorry guys, am turning on the Word Verification in the comment box again cos its being spammed alot... and i'm ending up deleting atleast 3-4 unwanted comments everyday. So, better to turn it on.. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Have a nice weekend.. its a long weekend for us too... :)

thoughts to ponder...

I donno where to start... I've not been in the blog arena for quite some days. For the past few days quite a few thoughts were disturbing my mind. I'm not able to maintain a proper state of mind. Its jus wandering here and there asking a few questions for which I am still looking for an answer.

Firstly, the natural calamities that have been happening frequently for quite a few years now (the Earthquakes, the Tsunamis, the Hurricanes, the Cyclones.. ). Everytime I see or hear news of such calamities, I cannot explain the thoughts tht run in my mind. I'm afraid everyday when I pick up the news paper and read the headlines of the toll rising and the various accounts of how horrible the situation is and how ppl r still suffering because of this.
Why are these poor people always targetted with such calamities? I blame the occurences of most of these to ourselves. With such advancements in technology and sciences, we delve deeper to explore every secret of our earth and universe.
One example I can put forth here is - we dig deep in the earth to extract oil, water and other things and this creates lots of pressures between the plates, which might cause earthquakes over a period of time. I jus know one such reason for this.
There are many such reasons which might also add up to these kinds of nature's fury.

But, once such calamity happens, lots of aids from countries pour-in. People come and help the survivors to get back to their normal way of life. After a few months, everything comes back to normal. Atleast in our point of view, things will be fine.
But, think of those parents who lost their children or the children who were orphaned cos of such calamities. How long will it take for them to come back to normal?
We always say life moves on and we also carry on with such things. But, I was jus telling my friend couple of days back that life is such a mystery that one day we might feel we r on the top of the world and the next day, everything would be lost. In jus split seconds, our life can change. Such is the harsh realities of life that we never know whats in store for us tomorrow.

All these thoughts took me to the second question thats troubling my mind.
Whats the purpose of my life in this world?
In this world full of mad races for power, status, money, recognition... where do I stand? Am I doing justice for the purpose God created me?
I donno... i really donno the answer. I jus know that I'm carrying on the current way life is taking me to. But, is that enough for me?
I really am confused with all these things. Sometime I feel I should have a better purpose of leading this life. I am not denying by saying such things that I don't need money or recognitions. I too have some ambitions of where I should be in some years and what all I should have achieved. But, all I'm concerned is abt myself and my family. Is it enough is the question that ponders my mind.
I know every one of u would also have got such a question in ur minds at some point in ur life. Right? But all these thoughts jus wither away in my daily mechanical routine.
There was one time when I used to laugh at my friend who would always talk philosophically abt the ways of life and karma. I did understand those, but thought life is there for us to live and enjoy.. so, why worry abt karma and other things. But, everytime I see such calamities occur, a sense of guilt gets into me.
Lets see.... I've planned some benchmarks for me. Let me see if I can get to those or not..

On the personal front too, I've been sooo lazy nowadays.... that I feel I'd have to take some serious steps to get me back to my usual vigour... So, jus working on some of those.. I've enrolled for a one day Time management course in my company to get myself into a proper schedule.

I've started noticing one more phase in the blogs world nowadays. We ppl are beginning to loose our identity slowly. Our freedom of speech is being questioned every now and then. Yes, I'm saying this cos of the incidents happened to Gaurav Sabnis and Rashmi cos of the comments they gave regarding IIPM. I support these bloggers cos they shared a few things in their blog where they've every right to write whatever they want. If the other party gets offended, their first duty is to prove wrong instead of insulting the bloggers. I stand by these bloggers and I appreciate that Gaurav Sabnis has taken such a step as to even leave his job for standing by his views. Hope we bloggers don't lose our freedom of writing.

Sorry guys, I'll still be on and off from the blog world for some more time. I might comment when I get some time, but will try to follow the happenings whenever I have time.
I'll be back when I have a proper schedule in place for me and when am able to follow it too :)
Hope u won't miss me ;)

Have a nice Dussera n Durga Pooja....

another post to make u all jealous :D

A day to remember..... i bet u'll be envious after reading this, esply gals...
I wrote this post y'day night itself after the surprise we got from our company... Read on to know more abt tht surprise... a bit long but do read it :)

For the past one month, we were having some functions @ office called AMS Imprint 2005with the motto "I have my hand in it". These functions were conducted to celebrate our successful completion of the projects generating lots of revenue for the past 1 year throughout our Indian offices.

Competitions like decorating the bay & the floors, antakshari, arm wrestling, rangoli, ethnic dressing and other kinds of contests were conducted. The functions were conducted in each floor of all the buildings separately first and then finals were also conducted. Even I won a contest conducted for our floor. The contest is climbing from ground to the topmost 8th floor first and I did it first... :D The rangoli and the floor decoration contests were too good.

All these celebrations culminated to a function organised in the Palace grounds for the Bangalore employees.Such functions are also to take place in other branch locations like Gurgaon, Pune, Hyderabad.

And today was Bangalore's final AMS Imprint function held at Palace grounds. I thought, or rather, we all who thought that its jus goin' to be like any other gathering, with loads of talks from the higher officials and some snacks. But, the mails said we r in for some surprise aswell.
So, we all waited for tht....

And my goodness what a surprise we got!!!
We went there to the Palace grounds at about 3pm and by 4pm all the talkings by the officials were over (its surprising right??)

Then, the first surprise... We were introduced to 2 special persons who shot to fame thro' V channels talent hunt. Ya, its none other than two of the Viva girls, Anoushka(also a VJ of V-Channel) and Mahua. First I thought, "What??? Was this the surprise??". I wasn't that happy. They started with the Dhoom number and slowly started attracting the crowd. And one by one all of us were near the stage dancing and shouting to their numbers.. And, my thoughts were wrong, they were not tht bad afterall. They managed to attract a lot of audiences and we were all dancing near the stage.. :)

But, hey wait.. there is more surprise here... We were informed tht there is a very special guest who is going to make the audiences go crazy.... a real crowd-puller..
Before tht, we were introduced to a doze of mimics by one of the guys from the Great Indian Laughter Challenge. I forgot his name, guess its Sanjay Kini or something like tht.. He also performs for Radio city FM. He did very good mimic of bollywood actors acting a scene in Devdas movie.

After that we started to grow impatient to see the surprise performer and some of them got a rumour abt this person. And suddenly all the gals started to come in great numbers near the stage and started shouting his name...
But instead of tht person, another bollywood singer Soumya Rao (Laila laila-Samay song fame, she has sung the Nach Baliye song in Bunty aur babli) came and entertained us to a couple of numbers.

Our wait was over and the rumour was not jus a rumour. We were in a live-show with none other than SONU NIGAM. Now you know why the girls were crowding around the stage. Infact they were pushing us around and going to see him as close as possible.
And what a live concert it turned out to be.. We were entertained to loads and loads of songs.. slow songs, peppy numbers, dance numbers and what not. Almost all songs from Kal Ho Na Ho, then the famous Tu..... song, the latest Chanda ki doli mein & Rafta Rafta song, the Halka Halka sa nasha song, the Lets Chill song, songs from Main hoon na.., Dil Chahta hai and lots more
Did I forget to tell u... he was looking too good.. the gals were jus shouting all the time. No wonder he is a crowd -puller. In between he also sang a Happy B'day song for Lata Mangeshkarji who is celebrating her b'day today. And I was singing it for our Chandu bhai - The Alter Ego guy.... who also celebrated his b'day today :)

Sonu also sang some of the audience requested songs.. The band which played for the songs were also good.. Atlast, it turned out to be one concert never to be forgotten. I still can't believe tht I had been to a Sonu Nigam's live-in concert cos it was too surprising all of a sudden for me and also for all of us who didn't know abt this.. And all these for FREE :D
We forgot that we were software professionals and our higher officials were sitting in the front... and we jus went and had a blast near the stage... ofcourse that was the aim of this show and they succeeded in doing that. I donno anything abt dance but that didn't deter my interest to go and dance. For me it was all about clapping, jumping up and down, and whatever I wish to do I did it :D

The concert got over around 8pm and all the happy and tired souls(thts us :D) had to return back to their home. Legs paining, throat dried and sound box gone down, ear drums gone, sweating throughout... but still the excitement made me forget all these.. And here I am @ home now typing all tht happened tonight itself so tht I can post it tomorrow, the first thing as soon as I go to office.
I am happy that my company has organised such a function for us. I thank all the higher officials and also the organisers who took pains to arrange such a function and make us happy.

I wanted to add some pictures taken during the event, but didn't get them yet. So, for now I'll let all u ppl read n be envious abt this and I'll post the fotos later to worsen it :P

my 55ers...

Hmm.... after reading quite alot of 55 fiction story tags and being tagged by Ricky, Neetie, Nupur n others, I decided to try my hand on it :)
If any of you donno what I'm talking abt, have a look at this link --> 55 Fiction
As for Essay writing, I've done a lot.. but, stories.. nonooo...
And after loads of thinking, I couldn't figure out something of my own. So, thought I'd do some typical bollywood stories in 55 words. :D

I donno whether it'll be as good as most of u have written, but jus for the heck of trying... here are my share of 55ers...

1. A typical bollywood masala

A hard-working orphan Suraj.
A rich & beautiful Roma.
Suraj saves Roma from baddies.
Both in love, travel to Switzerland for a song(dream sequence).
Roma's father, the villain, on finding this locks Roma and sends men to kill Suraj.
Suraj overpowers them & finds out that Roma's father cheated & killed his parents. Takes revenge & marries Roma.

2. Triangle love story

3 best friends - Raj, Pooja & Neha.
Pooja & Raj love each other.
Unaware of this, Neha reveals her love for Raj to Pooja.

Pooja convinces Raj to marry Neha.
Raj argues but surrenders to Pooja's order.
Sagai happens with naach-gaana.
Raj tells Pooja he is doing this for their love. Neha overhears & joins the loved ones.

3. A Tagic love story

Rajat, son of a rich businessman, loves a local village-belle Lakshmi.
Rajat's father, Mr.Sharma disapproves citing social status.
Rajat elopes with Lakshmi to a hill station, marries her.
Enraged Mr.Sharma sends his men in search of them.

A frantic search mission, a matrix ishtyle fight & a mishap in which Lakshmi gets killed. Rajat loses sanity.

Gosh, writing a nearly 3 hr movie in around 55 words is tough....
I thought of writing one each for Comic movie and Action movie too, but ran out of steam :D

As for tags, whoever reading this hasn't taken it and find it to be exciting can take up this challenge. Next up on this blog, the 7 thingy tagged by Divya..
Have a nice weekend... :)

vacation overrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!

Atlast, my vacation time is over and am forced to return back to Bangalore and start my routine mechanical work @ office.. :((

Onam was great @ our new home. The 10 days I got to spend in Kerala was too less for me cos I was jus getting to enjoy it and the days jus flew like I was there only for a day.. :(
I had such a relaxing time away from all the busy things in the world including the internet... Yes, I didn't have any net connection too.
The second day after landing up at my hometown, I went in search for a browsing center as we had not got a land phone yet at home. And after half an hr of searching I returned back home with the message tht there is no browsing center nearby.
Anyway, I thought its good in a way cos I wanted to be away from all these and jus relax and enjoy the time...
All I did there at home was eat, sleep, eat, sleep, watch tv.... and occasionally arrange my stuffs in my new room... After a long time, I watched lots of Malayalam movies on TV as they aired some good movies for Onam...
I also went to the Guruvayur Temple the day after Onam and my god u should have seen the crowd there.... It was a massive queue and we had to wait for almost 2 hrs to get a darshan.. but, it was worth every minute we waited. I jus love this Guruvayur temple, I feel happy whenever I go there... there were times when we used to go there every year for the New Year.

Ok, now am back to my office sitting infront of my terminal and checking all those unchecked mails and doing the works assigned to me..
I'll also start my blog hopping slowly cos I can see I've missed quite a few activities in the blog world.... will catch up with all those soon.... :)

after a short hiatus....

am back again with some more updates from my end!!! :)
Its been a few days of tough life for me.. travellin' here n thr... and trying to keep upto the pace of this fast life which I guess am not able to do sometimes..
I jus wrote in my prev post that there would be a time when I'd break down due to all these things... and I did yesterday :(
I was down and out dehydrated completely and feeling the heat going thro' in my body... and I wished I could go home immediately and jus sleep n sleep.. without thinking abt anything...

But, today am back to my usual self... cheering up myself and ready with my packed bags to go to my hometown for a long vacation(10 days) , the one I was longing for.... for quite sometime... :D
Its Onam time for us... and that too our first Onam in our new home :)
Next week is going to be a great festive week in Kerala... KaikottikaliI really like the atmosphere in Kerala during these festivals.... with Pookolam(Rangoli with flowers), Panchavathiyam, Kaikottikali(a kind of dance) by ladies, Kathakali, Onam special Sadhya (feast), Payasam, new clothes, and lots more.. I especially like the sight of ladies dressed in traditional Kerala saree with their hair let around loose with jus a single knot around it (donno how to describe tht :D)... with a chandana kuri in their forehead going to temples... Its a beautiful sight.. :D
Ok guess am making u all envious... I can see some jealous faces thr... LOL!!!

Am jus gonna enjoy this vacation without thinking of any work or the busy Bangalore life... take loads of rest and enjoy the festival with my parents, relatives and other friends.. I'll be once a while checking all ur blogs & will also update the happenings there, provided I get time for all these... :)
Take care and have fun while am not here... cos when I come back am gonna disturb u all.... :))

atlast time to update!!! :)

I know I've been out of this blog world for quite sometime and not regularly updating too...
Lots have been happening in my life oflate that I'm feeling completely zapped down sometimes...
I feel like I'll break down at some point or the other....

But, thankfully everything is still fine. The first thing is regarding our new house @ Kerala. We were having some problems at the end and atlast were able to sort it out and conduct the pooja right in time. My father is a kind of person who easily gets tensed for the slightest of the problems... and its very difficult sometimes to make him understand. So, my mother and myself talk to him alot to make him come out of these situations... and sometimes cos of this I hide some of the things that I find, will be irritating for him :)

The pooja and house warming ceremony went on well on 19th of August and am sure we won't forget this date cos its my sis' wedding anniversary too... what a coincidence it was!!! :)

Ganapathi omam pooja conducted very early in the morning
Ganapathi omam pooja conducted very early in the morning
Bagavathi seva pooja conducted in the evening
Bagavathi seva pooja conducted in the evening

Then, the big thing... the shifting of our things from Erode to T'mala. We planned to shift on 28th of August. Becos of the holiday I got for Janmashtami, I was able to go there and assist my parents for packing the things on Friday itself. My god, that was one helluva work...
At the end of the packing, we didn't have space to even sit down... lots and lots of cartons of things arranged in each and every room...

This is the state of jus one room dumped with the packed things...
This is the state of jus one room dumped with the packed things...

My father said he never thought we had so many things to shift, but again added thats cos he was living in Erode for the past 35 years. We all had spent most of our life there...
The difficulty in packing is cos we didn't have an official packers n movers to do it and were doing it all by ourselves with the help of a couple of friends of ours...
The next difficulty arose when we had to put all these in the truck n that was another task which required lots of energy and also planning (i said planning cos to get such a lot lot things into one truck, it wasn't child's play). My father was jus pacing up and down the house and we asked him not to come near the truck and jus relax :))
The problem was that lots of ppl were givin their own ideas of how to arrange the things in the truck and we all got confused. And atlast, somehow we jus arranged the things and this was how the truck looked after it was loaded and covered... :) (wanted to take a snap of it before covering it, but was too busy in tht work that I forgot.. )

The fully-loaded truck ready to start... :D
the fully-loaded truck ready to start... :D

So, atlast, everything went on well and the things have been shifted to the new house. But, it was a strange kind of feeling leaving the place where you grow up. Right? I always wanted to go to my native cos I simply love the kind of surrounding there and who wouldn't like their native , but still the place I studied and grew up will always be in my mind.. I'll cherish those good old days I had in Erode. My father is a li'l senti person and got a bit emotional thinking of leaving the place and above all the first house that my parents built with their hard-earned money. Hmm... but life has to move on and so we all moved too :)
But, one thing we r happy about is that we've sold out our house in Erode to my father's good old friend. So, we can be assured that he'll be careful with our house :) and also whenever we come to Erode, we can go there and stay.
Hope my parents have a nice, happy and calm retired life @ our native...
Have a glimpse of our home @ Erode and the one to which we r moving to in Kerala.

Our home @ Erode where we shifted from...
Our home @ Erode where we shifted from...
Our new home @ T'mala where we got shifted to :)
Our new home @ T'mala where we got shifted to :)

All these happenings over the past couple of months and lots of travelling each and every weekend has made me tire like anything.... Most of the weekends I travel from B'lore(Karnataka) to Erode(Tamilnadu) then from there to T'mala (Kerala).
So, its like travelling to three states in a weekend.. :D
Thts one reason why am not being able to be regular here... Moreover my work @ office too has to be managed in between..
Now tht things have settled down, I can relax abit and wait for Onam next month when I get to go home for a big vacation... :)
BTB, forgot to add.. the new house is named "Nandanam"...

I feel I've rambled alot abt the happenings in my life... right? I always write alot of things abt the happening in my life, abt whats going on in my mind... and all those which would not be much exciting for all of u to read, but the fact is this blog is like a diary for me where I can write abt all these... may be at a later part of my life, I can look back at all these and enjoyyy :))
I also feel am giving a virtual ride for all of u into my life :D

And if I stop without mentioning anything abt Ashes 2005, I would never be happy... Its a mind-blowing series and the English winning it yesterday amidst a big collapse - u couldn't ask for more.. :)
and no am not going to talk abt the Indian cricket.. even if the Indians bundled out Zimbabwe for jus 65 today... cos they do it everytime only against Zim, Bangladesh or Kenya...
Expecting the English to take the Ashes cup after eight consecutive series loses to the Aussies.. Lets wait and see....

a post pending from my side :)

I've been wanting to write a post for the past 3 days on the trekking I went for last weekend to Honey Valley in Coorg, but barely finding enough time. Had some trainings to be conducted and apart from that my usual work too.. all draining me.... :(

Now, I've got to go to Kerala tonight. Tomorrow is the pooja for our new house that I've written abt a few posts back :)
So, some hectic days ahead. Got to shift to that place next weekend. All the next few weekends have been booked for me as of now.. :)
And am happy to say that I've got my vacation sanctioned for next month. I'm going home for a 10 day vacation for Onam next month... yippeeeeeeee... :D

Regarding the trek we went last week... the place we went is called Honey Valley resorts in Coorg District of Karnataka. Its in a picturesque village called Kakkabe. From that resort we can go trekking to all the surrounding towering hills. And there also stands Coorg's tallest peak Thadiyandamol. That was our destination and that too in the month of August when the rains don't spare the mountains and when the leeches are on the prowl :) but who cares we jus got a great experience inspite of the many leech bites we got... :))

Here are a couple of snaps for you to have a look at the place we had been to...
I'll come up with a detailed post on this trip cos it'll be really useful for any of u planning for a trek nearby....

snap taken from one of the spots we climbed

trekking hard...

Ok guys... have a nice weekend.. won't be around for the next 3 days... see ya.... take care... :)

On my birthday.... :)

First, thanks alot for all those who had wished me.... It really brightened my day :)

Every year I get two sets of wishes for my birthday. One from my relatives and the other from my friends. You might be wondering why???

Its our tradition in Kerala ( I believe its there in many other places too) that we celebrate our birthday according to our stars. So, we see the Malayalam calendar and celebrate the day when my star appears in that particular Malayalam month in which I was born. So, according to English calendar, this falls on different date every year. This is the funda behind the two birthdays every year. One the actual birth date and the other according to the stars... :)
I believe most of you would be reading this for the first time.. right???

During my school days I used to say different dates as my birthday every year. So, my friends used to get confused. Since then I decided that I should celebrate my actual birthday for my friends and at home according to stars as my parents wanted.

This year according to stars, it was on 4th of August. when my parents, sis and some of my relatives had called to wish me...
And on my actual birthday on 9th of August, I celebrated it with my friends @ Pizza hut in Forum mall.

My birthday started with my roommates giving me a good deal birthday bumps after I cut my Birthday Cake at 12 O'clock. Some of my friends had also called me to wish at that time...

Birthday Cake...

Asusual I went to office and since I was taking some trainings for another project, I went ahead doing tht in the morning session. Then, afternoon I came to my cubicle and started to read all the email wishes and I saw a thread of mails from my blog friends with whom I had been to Pondy. They were also discussing abt a meet @ Pizza hut tht evening. I suspected there were lots of mails flying around without me, discussing reg this.

The Spaghetti Cake tht I cut to celebrate with my friends @ Pizza hut... :D

And we all got together tht evening @ Pizza hut in Forum..... n what followed was abt 2 hrs of full fun. They brought a Spaghetti and made me cut it to celebrate my birthday... Wow.. what a way to celebrate na.. with my favourite dish.. and they made sure I ate most of it.... :D
Then, there were some lovely discussions and chats... and one major discussion was regarding What do girls expect from guys given by Kuku. wow... we guys realised tht there r lots of lessons to be learnt.. :D It was a great day for me and thanks once again guys for making it great for me.... :)

BTB, regarding our trip to Pondy... Chandu has written a wonderful lessons learnt article... do read it here

Rendezvous with Spaghetti and Pan cakes...

pv: Maams, what shall we order??

myself: pv, we should try something different this time da... what do u say?

pv: I'm ok with anything.. no problem.

myself: I'm bored with all those naans, rotis and panner butter masalas... why not try something different??

pv: yes maams... we'll try something different.

myself: what about some Spaghetti maams... (after looking at all those weird names in the menu, I could only identify this one... :D)

pv: sounds good.. and also Pan Cakes.

chandu: hey guys, what r u ordering?? try some non-veg too like me and mithuna.

pv: maams, we want spaghetti only... :D

neels: lets leave it to their choice itself chandu. let them learn a lesson... :)

dheepak: I also want to try something different, apart from the naans we've ordered. What abt some mosakkas(or was it mosakkaras :D)

akhil: *smiling silently sitting in a corner watching all these*

mithuna: I'm gonna enjoy some good non-veg food.. :D

myself: okkkk.. so what... myself and pv are also gonna enjoyyy spaghetti for a change...

mithuna: lets see :D

Meanwhile the waiter comes to our table and we place an order for all of us. When we said we wanted Spaghetti and pan cakes. He asked us what type of Spaghetti we wanted.

myself: pv, what choice u prefer.. Spaghetti with tomato sauce or with cheese and olive oil???

pv: maams, we'll order for a mix vegetable pan cake and spaghetti its ur choice...

myself: lets try with cheese and olive oil.

waiter: Sir, it'll be very plain, why not go for tomato sauce.

myself: NO! We need Spaghetti with cheese and olive oil only.

waiter: Ok sir, as u wish. (He goes off after reading the list of orders once more).

neels: Prasad, what time is the bus? U said its at 11 pm or so right?

myself: Let me check it..
(And I take the ticket from my wallet, see the time of departure as 20.35)

myself: The bus is at 10.35pm, neels. Its already 8.45pm now. So, we should be fast.

This was the initial conversation we had sitting in a restaurant called Rendezvous in Pondicherry on Sunday, the 31st of July around 9pm.

After that... what happened was all comedy of errors... :) but ofcourse all those made us enjoy the trip alottt more.... Watch out for this space to know more abt the Spaghetti, pan cakes and mosakkas we had, and whether we return to Bangalore as planned and what happened before and after the trip....
Sorry had lots to catchup at work, thts why a late post.. :D

I had been to my native Thiruvilwamala last weekend...

My first.....................

Ok here I am taking some quick time off my work... to write an all important post!!! :D

Yesterday morning, I came to office asusual... n when I checked my mails, I found one mail which made me very happy.. :) yes, it was from one of fellow Bangalore blogger Chandu :) inviting a few of us for a small n quick bloggers meet yesterday evening itself.

Yessssssss.... I attended my first Real Bloggers Meet yesterday.. :))

And guess who was the reason for this short and quick visit???
Kaush, who came down to India jus last week from US for a month-long visit....
She is here in B'lore for a week before going to Mumbai...

The ones who were present at the meet - Attendance list :)
Mehak n Tarun - The lovely couple
and ofcourse myself... :)

I first met Tarun and Sumana yesterday evening at Raheja arcade around 6 and we searched for a suitable place for all of us to sit and have a chat....
Atlast we decided tht the best place would be in Forum Pizza hut :)
And we all went to then meet Kaush and Mehak.
The initial apprehension was there in all our faces... :) waiting for someone to break the ice.. :D

We started slowly... went to Pizza hut, started talking.... then some fotos followed before we were reminded tht we were supposed to give orders too :D
Then, we did order something, which didn't matter atall..

All of a sudden Taran joined us directly at Pizza hut. That was a good surprise and we were happy to see him cos Mehak was jus telling us abt her marriage recently to Taran. She still had the big sets of bangles which she has to wear as a custom...
We all then suddenly got busy with our pizzas that we forgot to talk.
And Taran rightly reminded us abt tht :)
Thats when we all started in full flow.. talking abt each one of us.

Sumana was telling us abt how her name spelt and what it meant (suman+a - flower or su+mana - good hearted).
Kaush started to say her plans in India and she is happy to have made this trip cos she is surely gonna meet quite a few bloggers all over India..
We were pulling Chandu's legs querying for his single status and whether its true or not??? Chandu, we still didn't get the proper answer.. u sure have a big list of female friends, I can see tht :P
Then, Taran told abt his travelling experiences and abt many such bloggers meet he has been to. It was very nice to hear it from him....
We were bugging Mehak and Taran to tell their love story, but both were blushing alottt and we all were grinning alot :D

We were soo busy talking that we didn't want to leave Pizza hut and atlast the Pizza hut guys came and asked us if we need anything else and indirectly asking us to pay and go.. They were also playing the music sooo loud.. We didn't wilt to all those pressures.... we jus carried on and on..
But atlast, we had to leave the place. So, we decided to find someother place for our next set of chatting.
But, before tht Sumana got an all important call from her office which required her attention, so she had to leave.

The next destination for us was Kalmane koffees... And there, the only topic we discussed about was the saga of Taran n Mehak's love story... Wow, what a great love story it was (no, am not going to tell u all tht :D) and we could still see their love cos they were sharing each and everything right from Pizzas to coffees.. :D
Taran and Mehak, u both truly are made for each other jodi..
I even got a couple of good pointers for good Punjabi food... Am gonna go to one soon.. Mast kalandar...

I was glad tht I got a couple of ppl to give my visiting cards to.. :D
As all good things should come to a quick end, we all started to part with heavy hearts (Oh... the filmi ishtyleeee :D)
Guys, anything else missed out????? Do add it thro' the comments.. :)

And thus came the end of my first real bloggers meet and thus comes to an end a post which I started writing since evening :) Hope you ppl reading there had as much fun as we did :D

Oh, no... Don't think that the topic has got anything to do with my marriage. Its still a loooong way to go :D
I jus got a call today afternoon from my best friend at school(he is the one who is still in touch with me regularly after the school days) saying he is going to get married this November. My first reaction was "WHATTTT????". I was really surprised on hearing that news. It was like a bolt out of the sky... cos he never mentioned to me that he was going to get married so soon...
I asked him "why so soon??". He returned back my question saying "Why do u say its soon? We are already 25 na... and am planning to get settled down..."
I had no answers for tht.. :D I jus wished him and enquired abt his fiancee...
God!!! I can never imagine tht my friend is getting married very soon...
Anyway..... my wishes for him for a great married life.... :)

God... I need a breakkkkkk.. big breakkkkkk from all these work and run to tht part of the world where no one will come and bug me abt anything....
gosh... I badly want to take some days off and go somewhere..
Work is getting hectic day by day and am having lots of things to attend to at home too... so, getting less time to even be idle and enjoy a peaceful sleep...
Yesterday, I had to complete an important module and immediately leave to see my cousin sister & her family who had come from Dubai for holidays....
Today, again... in the morning, I attended one of my relatives wedding and had to rush to the office immediately after the wedding.... My parents too have come to Bangalore for the wedding but am not able to be with them for long...
And now another burden has fallen on my back.. I'd have to help another project too. They've some new requests coming up and want me to help them on tht...
side by side, preparations for training a few ppl in the technology I work on is also going on.. so that next time they won't come back and ask for help..

Am in a nostalgic mood today... Got a thought for the day message with a chid's photo today morning... and was very much reminded of my cute lil nephew Achu(thts what we call him at home, his actual name is Pranav). I miss him alottt...
I happened to see my nephew abt 8 months after he was born...
He was born in the US... Its really hard if you have your near and dear ones soo far away. My sis used to send his fotos and videos once a while and thats how we watched him grow. Now he is more than two and half years old..
They did come to India once again in the beginning of this year. We all had a great time together in Kerala... I guess most of u who read my blogs would have known it.. Check this link for the old post... my nephew

Achu's foto taken 2 months back...

Ok, guess its time to ask my sister to send us achu's new set of fotos ... I'm gonna mail her right away... chechi be readyyyyy... :) (chechi means elder sister in Malayalam)

"We always know that looking back
on the tears would make us laugh...
We never know that
looking back on the moments
we laugh together would make us cry..."

Okok... am not crying now... :D

Here I'm....

"Here I'm... this is me...
There's no where else on earth I'd rather be...
Here I am... it's just me and you...
And tonight we make our dreams come true..."

Amazing Bryan Adams song.. listening to it... (OST: Spirit-Stallion of the Cimarron)

The weekend was pretty usual for me... jus laid-back and relaxing...
Slept the whole of mornings... I have a habit of getting up late everyday.. :((
somehow, with the kind of climate we have in B'lore, I won't feel like getting up earlier atall...

Had a chat with my friends who are studying abroad...
Also, we had an online meet with some of the bloggers on Saturday night.... was really nice to get to know them more as a person apart from jus reading their blogs.... thanks to Poonam for making it happen... :)

I spent most of the Sunday with my cousin sis, who moved recently to B'lore for her first job. So, had to do all the big bro kind of talkings to make her feel comfortable and understand the corporate world. Also, gave her some tips abt how to be wary of the B'lore guys... Hahaa, I know what u r all thinking.. but kya karen, when it comes to our sisters, we do have to be careful na.. :D

I also enjoyed the Wimbledon and the F1 race yesterday...
Federer is invincible on grass.. amazing flair and amazing all round performance... esply his back hand is sooo strong that it seems he is playing Table tennis :))
And, btb.... Congrats to our own Mahesh Bhupathi who teamed up with Mary Pierce to win the mixed doubles title....
Ok then, if I start talking abt F1 and cricket, I won't stop.. so, better stop now...

One more thing, do check out the song "Here without you" by 3 Doors down, a very good song.... u'll like it.. :)

Friendship is like the relation between
Eyes and Hands....

When the Hand gets hurt,
Eyes cries....

I'll be there for you...

Jus felt like posting this lyrics.... No prizes for guessing what song this is....

So, no one told you life was gonna be this way...
Your Job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's D.O.A...
It's like you're always stuck in second gear...
And it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year...
But -

I'll be there for you... when the rain starts to fall.
I'll be there for you... like I've been there before.
I'll be there for you... cause you're there for me, too....

You're still in bed at ten and work began at eight...
You've burned your breakfast, so far everything is great...
Your mother warned you there'd be days like these...
But she didn't tell you when the world has brought you down to your knees...
That -

I'll be there for you... when the rain starts to fall.
I'll be there for you... like I've been there before.
I'll be there for you... cause you're there for me, too...

Ok, for those who donno this song, its the title track of F*R*I*E*N*D*S series sung by the Rembrandts... Its one series which I never used to miss.... I've watched each n every episode for atleast 3-4 times... Such a greattttt series it is and the characters r tooo loveable...
I tried getting the DVD set for the entire 10 seasons of Friends, but its not yet available in Bangalore. My friend said he has got the DVD for the entire 10 seasons of the series in Germany... May be I should ask him or my sis to get me a complete set too... :)
Its great to analyse each and every character in that... I'll come up with a post reg this Friends series and the characters when I get some free time to write....

another tag post on books... :)

Okie.. so time for another tag post.. This one is from Ricky about books... Let me tell u, am not such a big time reader and I also don't read too heavy funda books.. jus some time pass stuffs...

Books... I guess I had written something abt this... My reading habits started from childhood days with Champak, Gokulam, Tinkle, Panchatantra and other short stories... then as I grew up, I became a Tintin fan... and I still remember me fighting for each tintin books in our school library... :) And very soon I completed the entire collection. Then, the transition to Enid Blyton's books happened, like every other children. I guess whoever has some good reading habits would have read Blyton's book at some point of time during their childhood days... right?? Hmm, she is one of my favourite authors... How can I forget those days when I used to read the Secret Seven and Famous Five series during my exam times too at home in my room without the knowledge of my parents. And, once my father caught me reading tht hiding in between my text books.... and I don't want to explain what followed tht :))
After tht, Hardy boys, Nancy Drew and other books followed...
These were during school days..

In college, I started reading books of Sheldon, Seagal, Archer n other such kind of fiction novels.... I basically read only such books, not serious kind of materials... The reading habit then became an occasional affair after I started working.. But, whenever I find time, I'd grab a novel and start reading....

Total Number of Books I Own
I don't have tht many books with me... basically borrow it from library or friends and read. I do have many of Sheldon's and Eric Seagal's books... Then, some other novels too... some 25 in all....

The Last Book I bought

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown - jus started to read this one...

The Last Book I read

Again, Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code. Now you know why I bought Angels n Demons next.... :)

Five Books that mean a lot to me

Enid Blyton n Tintin series - I still want to have the entire set of books...

Da Vinci Code

This is one book which most of us won't deny as an average one. It was a brilliant book and wouldn't let the readers to divert their attention for even a minute... u'll go on and on reading the whole book...

Love Story by Eric Seagal

This is another one which I'll never forget. Great, simply greatttt book.... the narration is simply superb... that it'll affect the readers too.... An amazing romantic novel.... shouldn't miss this one..

Doctors by Eric Seagal

Again another greatt book by Seagal.. Somehow after reading this one, I had a great respect for the Doctors than what I had previously. A must read for everyone....

Tell me your dreams by Sydney Sheldon

I've read almost all Sheldon's books and I found this one to be really good. Its regarding a person who is affected by Multiple Personality Disorder(MPD).

David Copperfield by Charles Dickens

I read this during my school days and felt soo sorry for the boy David who was put to soo many struggles. This book is actually part of Dickens' childhood days when he struggled alot... After reading tht, believe me, I felt really sorry for such children who r put to such hardships with no one to care for and I was really thankful that I've got such a lovely parents who never made me feel that I lack something in my life. Thats why tht character still remains in my heart as one which I won't forget....

I've some books in my mind to read like Five point someone by Chetan Bhagat, Godfather (am sure I'd read this one very soon), Life of Pii (now suggested by Ricky, would read it too), Fountainhead by Ayn Rand (heard from some ppl tht this one is good.. any idea??)
And suggestions required from the readers too.. tell me some good ones to read...

Tag Five People

Hmm.. this is the most difficult part.. cos I believe most of u would have already been tagged.. if not, do take up this one..
I've a few names in my mind.. like Neelima, Poonam, Akhil, Tarun, Sweety, Shelley, Sherin, Mithuna, Nupur, Divya, Kaush, Ksusha ... Rest I believe r already tagged by Ricky... :) Happy taggie-tagging each other :D

dull boy here to cheer up....

Work.. Work... Work... All work and no blogging makes Prasad a dull boy....
Atlast, I did find some time to cheer up this dull boy :D

Me: "So, how have u been these days without me??"

My blog: "Oh Prasad, without u.... I was getting bored. The regular visitors do drop in once a while to check for the updates, but they too got bored now, I guess..
What were u doing all these days without even updating me??? Got any new girlfriend or what... that u almost forgot me!!!

Me: "Arre blogji, kya karun... got work to do na... and last week we had some important code changes in our application, so was held up in that work.
And, girlfriend?? don't u want me to be happy or not??? anyway, will surely let u know when I find one.. ok??? For now, am happy with what n how I'm :)"

My blog: "Accha baba.... sorry... I was jus concerned that u didn't turn up for long.. So, any news or happenings that u want to share now"

Me: "Hmm.. nothing much in particular... weekend was jus normal.. saw a couple of my cousins who are here in B'lore. Also, went to Shankar's (director of Gentleman, Indian, Muthalvan, Boys) new film "Anniyan" but was not upto his usual standards.... "

My blog: "What about F1, u always have something to say about F1 na... what happened to that???"

Me: "Don't remind me of that, was waiting to see the US GP last Sunday and was disappointed to see only the six cars with Bridgestone tyres racing. But, am happy for two things.. 1) Ferrari's n Schumi able to win one atlast.. and 2) Karthikeyan on the points table now...
Many were blaming Ferrari's for participating and not having that sporting and comptetitive spirit. But, I would like to say that the Michelin tyre company were the one to blame for not being prepared for such a circuit... so what.. atleast our Narain Karthikeyan was able to see some points cos of this na... "

My blog: "Hmmm... u do have some sport or the other to talk abt always.... "

Me: "Know what.. my friends too say the same thing.... :)
Now that the Wimbledon has started, the focus is now on Tennis and Sania Mirza. She has won her first round match.. so, am happy abt that.. Let see if she is able to recreat that magical moment in Dubai to beat Kuznetskova again.. or if Kuznetskova manages to avenge her defeat to Sania..."

My blog: "What abt cricket and football?"

Me: "Yes, I do want to say that am happy...atlast the Aussies become a beatable team.... very nice to see them on the receiving end... And football, Confederation cup is going on now.. so, waiting for the Germany vs Argentina clash today...."

My blog: "Phew... u do have something to say in each and every sport... when do u get time to follow?? You said u were busy in ur work???? "

(My conscience-Prasad, whats this.... see now u r caught... the truth will be revealed now that u weren't working... LOL!!!)

Me: "No blogji, u know... am a committed n dedicated software engineer.. so, work is my first priority always... I watch all these matches during night after I go home.... Need some relaxation after work na... "

(My conscience-Hmm thats a smart answer.. but u and dedicated s/w engg ROTFL!!!)

My blog: "Ok ok.. no need for those explanations.. I believe u... Anyway, enjoy ur work and sports too.. But, when will u come back?"

Me: "Don't worry..... this week, work has stabilised... thats why am back to see u my dear..."

My blog: "So sweet of u Prasad ;) Does this mean that u'll come to see me only when u r free??? :( "

Me: "Oh no.... I'll try to squeeze-in as much time as possible for u even when am busy.... "

My blog: "Hmm.. lets see... I'll believe u only after I see the actual results.. "

Me: "Oh... u want to see results... now don't act like a Project Manager... :("

My blog: "Ok ok..... now u go.... don't bore me too much.. "

Me: "Ok then.... until next time byeeee byeee my dear... "

jus a casual post...

Its been nearly a week since I updated my blog or visited other blogs... Am held-up at work oflate and finding it difficult to manage both work and blogs, so jus took a mini break from it.
Am back, but guess I'd be on and off the blogs for a month atleast cos we do have lots of enhancements and changes in our application. So, do bear with me if am not updating this regularly or not visitng any of ur blogs...
Today, I got sometime after work... so, took the opportunity to update it :)

So, what was I upto these days?
I was loaded with work last week and after that I relaxed accordingly during the weekend :))
I had to attend my friend's sis marriage in Coimbatore during the weekend. So, went there with my friends and had loads of fun..
We went to Black Thunder on Saturday. Its a Water Theme Park in a place called Mettupalayam, near Coimbatore. We were 16 in all and had a great time playing in the water the whole day....

I also went to meet one person whom I regard so high in my life cos she inspired me alot when I was in my final year of graduation. She was our super senior in college and happened to work for a year as our lecturer. She guided me in my final year project too... I learnt alot of things from her, not technical stuffs.. but, certain facts which are really important to improve ourselves, our attitude, confidence... She was more of a friend than a lecturer for me and my friends... We'll never forget u...
Su... Thanks alot for being there for me and my friends...

Am also happy to say that my friend (and also my roommate now) got selected in Oracle and is going to move to Hyderabad within a month. Have a great career da.... hope u'll shine more and more in whatever u do..
Ch... Wishing you all the best...

Let me end now... Here is a link for you all to read and enjoy how strange our ppl are and what all they do to please the Gods... It happened last week...
Interesting incident from Rediff site

Now back to work... and hope I won't be in hibernation for long... will come back when I've some important thing or incident to share.. :)
