Monday morning blues.....

After enjoying a nice weekend with friends, when u come back to work on a Monday, will u ever have the tendency to work??? Yet, if we don't work, our boss will come n kick our butt n ask us to work... isn't it? :(( Too hard....

Wish we had jus 2 working days and the rest 5 days as holidays.. the other way around.. Then, guess what will happen??? The first day of work will go in a hangover mood of the big weekend and the second day of work will go in anticipation of the long weekend... so, there will be no work atall... yipeeeee..... what an idea!!! (Oh, i forgot... who else will do our work, may be this plan won't work.. sigh...)

The weekend went away soo fast that I didn't know what I did..
but some highlights of this weekend were....
- Shopping for my cute little nephew....
- Watching "The Aviator" with my friend....
- Cleaning our house... yaa yaaaa.... read it again... cleaning our house... a bachelor's house... guess how difficult it would have been for us.. :((
yet, we did it finally (...claps, claps please....)
I thought I'd take a couple of snaps.. cos this is such a rare event... three guys cleaning a house together... :)) but didn't do so..

Ok.. now let me go back to work.. oyeeeee... my boss is at my back.. ready to kick my butt.....

I bet u'll look for me after reading this!!!

Today was a busy day for me at the office.... so, late in posting.... jus a small one.. weekend mood na, so lazy to post :D
This is one joke which I enjoyed alot....

Once, a constant and e raised to x (e^x) were going down a road, when they spotted the derivative operator at a junction. The constant started perspiring -- fully in tension.
He said, "Oh ... the derivative will convert me into zero".

e^x was cool, he said,"Ha! the derivative can't do anything to me, I am e^x."

So, in an overconfident manner, he went to the junction, while constant stayed back.

e^x went there, and told the derivative, "I am e^x, you can't do anything to me!"

The derivative replies back, "I'm not d/dx, I'm d/dy".

:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) ROTFL!!!

Even in this small joke there is a big realization.... right???

Weekend time and time to enjoy some moments with our friends...
so, have a nice time guys n gals...
Have a nice time!!!

Left or right!!! doesn't matter for me... :))

This week has been really silent one for me.... Workload is also a bit low.. so, offlate i've been blog-hopping alot... and also read some wonderful blogs...
My health is also not upto the mark, thanks to the ever-changing climate in Bangalore. I donno what happened to the so-called great Bangalore climate this year... The temperature is soaring day by day.. and is not constant too...

Yesterday, a funny incident happened...
I was having a severe headache and left the office in the afternoon itself....
I took an auto and was heading home.... When it was time to take a left turn to my house, I put my left hand out and told the autowala to turn "right". But, he understood I was asking him to turn left.... I didn't realize that I was wrong... Then, the next turn was right and this time I put my right hand out and asked him to turn "left". This time he stopped right in the middle of the road and told me "arre saab aap left bolrahehein aur right dikarahehein... mein kistaraf jaaun..." I was stunned for a moment.... only then I realized that I had been telling him the wrong directions...
Sometimes I get confused with the directions... may be becos I'm left-handed... Since my main hand is left, I treat/feel it as right and the right one is like left for me... confusing na.. ha.. haaa..... the autowala too was in the same state... :))

Ok since many ppl liked the quotes I posted yesterday, I've one more here...

"I don't worry about terrorism. I was married for two years."
~~Sam Kinison~~

P.S: This time the person has let his name out ;), may be it didn't matter for him cos he might already be having a nightmare at home :P , getting paragraphs after paragraphs...
For those who donno what I'm saying, pls relate it to my previous post, the last quote...

I can see some gals ready to take on me... for this quote n comment.... .
Time for a coffee break now... let me come back strong n ready :))

"It takes a strong fish to swim against the current. Even a dead one can float with it."
~~John Crowe~~

"The main dangers in this life are the people who want to change everything - or nothing."
~~Nancy Astor~~

"I had some words with my wife, and she had some paragraphs with me." :))))
~~Unknown or unwilling to give the name out for fear of getting some more paragraphs from his wife ;)~~

Free Mojtaba and Arash Day...

I guess most of the bloggers would have heard of what this post is going to be...
The Committee to Protect Bloggers has declared February 22nd as "Free Mojtaba and Arash Day". The commitee asks that bloggers dedicate their blog to the release of Iranian bloggers Motjaba Saminejad and Arash Sigarchi.

If you still donno what am talking abt, then check this link...

I got to know about this thro' Shantanu's blog.

This plea is to release the two Iranian bloggers who were prisoned for expressing their views.... So, if such instances start occurring, soon we all should be running for covers...

Today morning I read an article in the Bangalore Times supplements of Times of India... where some instances of bloggers working in companies being dismissed for writing their opinions abt their companies....
Here is the link for that...

So, if incidents like these start to happen, will we bloggers be able to express our opinion frankly in the web??? May be in future some strong rules and regulations governing the bloggers community would come... then, blogging will be on the wane... for sure....
Any opinions or thoughts on this???

A tribute to my native place......

For a long time, I wanted to write about my native place. Today, I found sometime to do. So, here it goes….

I’m basically a native of Kerala, popularly known as "God’s Own Country". Hmm, even though I'm from Kerala, I was brought up in a place called Erode in Tamilnadu. Because of my parents' jobs, we were settled in that place. Now that they are retiring, we are planning to go back to our native place. Oh I forgot to mention my native place right? Its a place called Thiruvilwamala in Thrissur(or Trichur) district.
Now that my parents want to return to my native place, am really excited abt that... we've started building our house there and very soon will be moving over there.... Even if I'm working in Bangalore, atleast once every month I'll be going to my native to visit my parents...

Ok, so... whats so great about this place one might ask...
This is what I found in one of the sites when I did a search for my native....

"Kissed by the waves of river Nila, the place is famous for its hill shrine SRI VILWADRINATHA TEMPLE(Sri Rama's Temple). The serene, calm, pollution free surroundings, dissolved in the chilled breeze make the climate salubrious and atomsphere conducive for effective living"

and more in another site......

"Unlike the coastal belt of Kerala which abounds in lagoons and coconut palms, the landscape this side (from Palakkad to Trichur) of the State is dominated by hills, paddy fields and palmyra trees.

Tiruvilwamala is a typical country place, calm, quiet and serene. Standing atop the hill and surveying the picturesque landscape of the place caressed by a soft breeze, one finds oneself perfectly at peace with him and the world.

Tiruvilwamala has an important temple(Sri Vilwadrinatha Temple), consisting of two shrines side by side-one dedicated to Rama and the other to his brother Lakshmana. It is a mountain shrine easily accessible by road on the west side. The eastern side consists of a series of mountains which one has to trek to reach the temple. The place is in Thalapalli Taluk in Trichur District. It is 29 km. from Trichur and 20 km. from Palghat and is well served by frequent bus services.

The main Mahavishnu idol of Sri Vilwadrinatha Temple
Sri Vilwadrinathan

Among the three famous temples dedicated to Sri Rama in Kerala, Tiruvilwamala is the foremost, the image here being self-born. The other two temples are Triprayar near Trichur and Tiruvangad in North Kerala. Similarly there are only a few temples for Lakshmana in India lot alone in Kerala. There is one temple at Vennimala some 8 km. away from Kottayam. But it is not as well known as Tiruvilwamala.

Festival

To the north of Tiruvilwamala, about one km away, is the famous Bharata river (Bharatapuzha), the Ganges of Kerala, which adds to the scenic beauty of the place. On the other side of the river is Lakkidi Railway station on the Olavakod-Shornur section of the Southern railway."

These are the facts about Thiruvilwamala...
Apart from the Sri Vilwadrinatha Temple, there is a temple for Bhagavathi(called as Durga mata, Kaali in other states) called Parakkottukavu Devi Temple. This is also very famous.
Every year, a festival called "Thalappoli" happens in our native. Its like the Thrissur Pooram festival.... Lots of elephants will be lined together, lots of celebrations happens... like Kudamaatam (Changing umbrella's which are held by men sitting on the elephants, one person will be holding the deity too... Then, there is the famous Panchavathiyam (music by many instruments... very famous in Kerala...) and poothan and thira, kathakali and to end... lots of vedikettu (fire crackers) too... Its a very famous festival celebrated usually in the Month of May every year...
Every year, during this festival, we have a family gathering and celebrate it together... Its one day when I can see all my uncles, aunts, cousins together in one place... But, nowadays as we(me and my cousins) r all grown and each one is in different place, its very rare to see all of them together.. but, we try to make it to there every year...

Thalappoli at Parakkottukavu Devi Temple
Parakkottukavu Thalappoli

Apart from this, there are lots of other festivals like Ekadeshi which happens in the Malayalam month of Kumbha (February- March). On Ashtami, Navami and Ekadeshi days there is vilakku (festival of lights), niramalas (decoration with flower garlands) and elephant processions... Elaborate feasts used to be hold in the past, which like other temples have been discontinued with the change of times..... On Ekadeshi day hundreds of devotees observe fast and forgo their sleep... They spend their time in temples in prayers & in witnessing a variety of entertainments given freely by famed artistes...

Ok now I guess u would've learnt a bit about my native....
Am very eagerly waiting to go there.... The photos uploaded here are again got from some sites... anyway, I'll try to take some snaps the next time I go to my native and upload it in my blog.....
Have a great weekend..... :)

Update: As promised, here are some more snaps of my native...

Valentine's Day!!!

So, cupid's in the air today going around places and spreading the message of love......
Sometimes I feel strange thinking of Valentine's day, propose on this day when u've got whole 364 other days to do so too... The sooner the better, thats my policy ;)

If we feel that Valentine's day is a special day that ppl get to spend with our loved ones, its wrong.... I feel each and every day is special for us to be with our loved ones.....
The loved ones, here I mean, are not jus our lady-love/lover ..... it includes our family, friends, and all the wonderful ppl in our life including ourselves... Yes, we should learn to love ourselves, thats important too....

Ok, now time for some smiles...
Here are some of the glorious ways ppl propose on this Valentine's day and the kind of replies ppl get back..... enjoy :)

I wish I were one of your tears, so I could be born in your eye, run down your cheek, and die on your lips.
Reply: I don't mind where you die.... As long as you do!

Did you know they changed the alphabet? They put U and I together.
Reply: So, how many times did you fail kinder garten?

Are your legs tired? Because you been running through my mind ALL day long.
Reply: Yes, they are. I've been running away from you!

Are you lost? Because it's so strange to see an angel so far from heaven.
Reply: How many times have you been to heaven, anyway?

Do you believe in love at first sight, or do I have to walk by you again?
Reply: Yeah. Why don't you walk by and just keep walking!

What's that in your eye? Oh...it's a sparkle.
Reply: What are you on? Crack or cocaine?

Do you have a map? I just got lost in your eyes.
Reply: (too corny.. maybe a disgusted look would enough)

You can forget about going to heaven because it's sin to look that good.
Reply: You can be sure of going to hell.. Your stupidity will assure you of a place!

If I had eleven roses and you, I'd have a dozen.
Reply: So, that's your problem.. Simple algebra!

Hope u'd have liked those, if u've had any such experiences, do share ;)
Happy Valentine's Day, not only for today... for all throughout the year... enjoy spending time with all ur loved ones.... and try to enjoy some time all alone by urself... I bet, u'll explore alot abt urself :)

A small story about love...

I read this story today which again made me to think of the reasons for the happenings I had posted yesterday...

Its from Swami Vivekananda, or thats what the mail contained... read on.....

I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me.
Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with some water and held it before me, and said this: "You see this water carefully contained on my hand? It symbolizes Love."

This was how I saw it: "As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there.

However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds.

This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love...they try to posses it, they demand, they expect... and just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retrieve from you.

For love is meant to be free, you cannot change its nature.
If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.
Give and don't expect.
Advise, but don't order.
Ask, but never demand.

It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is the secret to true love.

To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring."

This story is a perfect example when we have too many expectations in any kind of relationships, be it love or be it friendship... and my dear friends, do realise this and pls don't have too much of expectations... I hope u'll realise it soon...

Passing thought...
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take;
but by the moments that take our breath away....

Kitni baatein yaad aatehein....

Ya, true.... am feeling nostalgic today alot... am feeling like that since yesterday.... the reason being my friends....
my freinds, three of them studying abroad, are having a hard time there... lots of problems, lots of fights.... and I know the only reason is excessive affection and love for each other.. which is inturn creating problems... lots of possessiveness, ego clashes... I know its just a small thing and things will get settled down asusual soon.... time is the best healer for that., but somewhere at the back of my mind I feel really down... wish I was with them so that I could settle things...
I am reminded of the golden days when we were all together in our college, spending each and every day in such a manner that it remains fresh in my mind even now..... Missing them alot and seeing them facing such problems makes me really sad and down...

"Kitni baatein yaad aati hein..... tasveer aisi banjaatihein...
Mein kaise inhein bhoolon.... dil ko kya samjhahon..."

This message goes to them: "My dears.... I miss u alot... pls don't feel sad for all that has happened.... things will surely be bright soon.... will be waiting for you all to come back........."

On a separate note..... today is my friend's b'day. He is staying with me in Bangalore. Yesterday night, some of my friends over here had come to our house to celebrated his b'day..... It was very nice..... we all had a chat for a long time till late night... Happy B'day to u once again da....

Should I write abt my weekend???

Weekend is one word which would be liked by all the working ppl in this world... isn't it??? And what better way to spend the weekend than to go out, watch movies, hang-out with friends... thats precisely what I did too....
I shopped alot for my cute little nephew... dresses, toys, cds.....
know what I got a complete set of small cars (24 nos. in that) and ended up playing with those in my room that night with my friends... I was reminded of my childhood days.... :))

Me n my friends had planned to go for the movie Black, but since tickets for the weekend has already been full, we went to watch a Malayalam movie (Udayananu tharam - Mohanlal's movie). Its a hit already in Kerala, so u can guess the rush here for the tickets cos its running in just a single theatre... and as expected, we didn't get the tickets.... Atlast, we ended up seeing a Tamil movie - Kaadhal (meaning Love). And what a movie it was.... really touching story indeed.. enjoyed it....

Oh.. I completely forgot to write abt one important happening in my work life today... As I had been writing in my blog last week abt my work getting hectic... all those work I did last week was rewarded in the form of appreciation mails from my PM and teammates... I was really happy to see my inbox containing their mails when I got back today morning.... appreciating me for doing a good work... :)
So, this goes down as one of the important moments of my life...
Way to go Prasad.. way to go.... this is jus the beginning...don't be complacent...

When I was browsing thro' the web, I saw an article in rediff saying Aamir Khan had a haircut.... hmm, so nowadays the paparazzis are right behind the celebrities even to the saloon ;)
But, here I know the reason being shedding his extra hair and mustache that he had grown for "The Rising" film..... hmm expecting to see that film.... i like his acting alot.... His new look is also cool and is for his forthcoming film "Rang de Basanti". I thought i'll show the comparisons of his looks... so, ppl... here is how he was before and how he is now....

Today, I submitted all my income tax proofs. The last date for submission being tomorrow, in my company.. Its a very boring process... getting signs from the house owner in the rent receipts, getting all the bills and receipts ready... and filling some forms.. submissions.. boring process, but if not done properly, we'll get a heavy pay cut in the next month's sal for income tax ;)
so, have done it properly...

One good things that happened recently which I liked alot....
>> Narain Karthikeyan getting his chance to race in the F1 for Jordan... what a good news.... great going Narain...
